Where the call gets lost.

The moments a appliance repair business misses the phone, and what each one costs.

You are under a dishwasher when the phone rings

Appliance work happens on your knees behind a range or flat on a kitchen floor with a dishwasher pulled out. Your hands are wet, the phone is in the van, and the caller has a washer that stopped mid-cycle with a week of laundry inside. They wait five rings. Then they try the next shop on the map.

The warm fridge does not wait until Monday

Refrigerators fail on holiday weekends with a hundred dollars of food inside, and the customer calls every shop until one answers. Whoever picks up gets the job and, usually, the next three years of that household's repairs. A recorded greeting at 6 PM on Saturday hands all of that to a competitor.

Half the calls are questions, not bookings

Do you work on built-in refrigerators. Is a twelve-year-old dryer worth fixing. Can you come to Ellsworth. Each takes two minutes to answer and interrupts a repair, so a lot of shops stop answering unknown numbers. The callers who would have booked once they heard yes quietly disappear along with the ones who were only asking.

What Ansurra does on the call.

The receptionist, in appliance repair terms.

Make, model and symptom before the van rolls

Ansurra collects what a tech actually needs: the appliance, the brand, the model number off the door sticker if the customer can find it, the age, and the fault in plain words, such as a dryer that spins but stays cold. You choose the fields. It all lands in the dashboard with the recording, so the tech can put the likely part on the truck before leaving.

Diagnostic visits booked in the call

It offers only the arrival windows open on your real calendar and books the diagnostic visit while the customer is still on the line. A confirmation goes out by email, then a reminder about a day before. When a part has to be ordered and the return visit is next week, the customer can call back and Ansurra books the second appointment the same way.

Your trip charge, in your words

Most shops charge a diagnostic fee that is waived or credited if the customer goes ahead with the repair. Put that on your price list and Ansurra says it exactly that way, every time. It does not guess what a compressor or a control board will cost. When the list says the repair quote comes after the tech looks at it, that is what the caller hears.

The leaking washer goes to you now

Some calls should not wait for a booked window: water pouring from a supply line, a dryer that smells like burning, a fridge full of insulin. You define what counts. Those callers are transferred to your cell, either straight through or with a one-line spoken briefing first. When you cannot pick up, Ansurra takes the details, emails them, and offers the first open slot.

A call, start to finish.

How a call to Hollis Appliance Service — a fictional business — plays out. The receptionist only offers times its calendar shows free and only quotes what the owner's price list says.

CallerHi, our refrigerator is running but it's not cold anymore. The freezer's starting to thaw.
AnsurraI'm sorry, that's a stressful one. Is it a side-by-side, a French door, or a top freezer, and about how old is it?
CallerFrench door, about eight years old. I can read you the model number off the inside sticker if that helps.
AnsurraIt does, go ahead whenever you're ready. Then I'll get you the earliest open visit.
CallerIt starts with M-F-I, then two four one. And we're at nineteen Pruett Lane in Dover.
AnsurraThank you. The diagnostic visit is eighty-nine dollars from our price list, and it's credited toward the repair if you go ahead. The earliest open window on the calendar is tomorrow between eight and ten in the morning. Does that work?
CallerYes, please book it. Should I keep the doors shut?
AnsurraYou're booked for tomorrow, eight to ten. A confirmation email is on its way, and yes, keeping the doors closed helps it hold the cold until Marcus arrives.

Ansurra vs. what you use today.

Voicemail, an answering service, a person at the desk: what each still does better, and what it costs.

Compared with letting it ring to voicemail

Appliance customers are calling with something broken and leaking right now. Voicemail asks them to describe it to a machine and wait. Ansurra asks the questions, books the window, and sends the confirmation before they can dial anyone else. Voicemail is free, and it is also where your Saturday calls go to die.

Compared with a live answering service

A human service can sound warm, and some older customers prefer a person. It also costs by the minute, cannot see your calendar to book, and hands you a stack of messages to return at 7 PM. Ansurra books directly, remembers the customer next time, and quotes your trip charge. For a customer angry about a repair that failed twice, a human still handles the heat better; Ansurra passes those to you.

Compared with an office manager

One good office person changes a shop, and Ansurra does not replace that judgment. It covers the hours that person is not there: before eight, after five, lunch, vacation, and the twenty minutes they are on the other line. For a one- or two-tech shop, it is the front desk you could not otherwise afford yet.

How it works.

01

Paste your website

Ansurra reads your services, hours and service area and drafts its own knowledge. Add your price list if you want it quoting.

02

Forward your number

One dial code at your carrier — every call, or only the ones you miss. You keep the number your customers know.

03

It answers

From the next ring: it books on your calendar, emails confirmations, transfers emergencies to your cell and sends you every detail.

Appliance Repair, answered.

Can it ask for the model number?

Yes, and it is one of the most useful fields to turn on. Ansurra asks the customer to read the model and serial off the sticker inside the door or behind the kick plate, repeats it back, and stores it with the call. If they cannot find it, it notes that and moves on. You define the custom fields; model number, age and symptom are the usual three.

How does it handle the diagnostic fee question?

Every appliance caller asks what it costs to come out. You write the answer on your price list, for example a diagnostic fee that is credited toward the repair, and Ansurra says exactly that. It never estimates the repair itself. If the list says repair quotes follow the diagnosis, the caller hears that and books the visit knowing the number they will pay first.

What about brands we do not service?

Tell Ansurra which brands and appliance types you take and which you do not, and it answers honestly. A caller with a commercial ice machine or a brand you avoid hears that you do not service it, instead of booking a visit your tech will refuse at the door. That saves a wasted trip on both sides and keeps the calendar honest.

Can it book the return visit after a part comes in?

Yes. When the customer calls to schedule the second visit, Ansurra recognizes them by caller ID, sees the earlier appointment in their history, and books the return in an open slot on your calendar. Confirmation and reminder emails go out the same way. Recurring maintenance visits, such as an annual dryer vent service, can be booked as a repeating series.

How much does it cost for a two-tech shop?

Most two-tech shops fit Growth at $49 a month for 180 talk minutes. Starter is $29 for 60 minutes if your call volume is light; Pro is $99 for 400 minutes and up to four numbers. Extra minutes are $0.35 each. The free trial is 20 talk minutes on the real product with no card, and there is a 14-day money-back guarantee on the first payment.

Do our techs have to learn new software?

No. Techs keep working; the dashboard is for whoever runs the office. Every call arrives as a transcript, recording and summary, with the lead scored from zero to ten and the reasons listed. A daily digest email sums up yesterday. If you already run a scheduling tool, a webhook or automation connector can push each booking into it.
